The name game...

Well, we know we are having a boy so that at least takes some of the guesswork out of picking a name.  If we had been having a girl, I planned to name her after my Memaw and her first name would have been Caroline.  But, that's not the case...so time to start picking little boy names!!  I have always thought boy names were harder to pick out than girls.  I don't know why...but I had a hard time with Zach and with Ethan as well.

Picking a name is very important.  After all, they will carry this with them for their entire lives.  While chosing a name, we tried to think of something that the baby could grow into.  A name that would be "cute" as a baby, "cool" as a teenager, "professional" enough to land the top of a resume pile when he's 25.

After shuffling through various names, it really didn't take us long to settle on one we both really liked and agreed on.  We both chose the first name and Ryan let me pick the middle name, since he named Haley last time :)

So our baby's name will be:

Nolan Patrick Rorrer

We just couldn't wait!

Nobody knows this, but daddy snuck a peek during the ultrasound!  Having that envelope and DVD sitting under my nose for 2 days was enough!  I couldn't wait any longer.  As much as I was looking forward to the gender reveal party, I just could not wait.... so I popped the DVD!  I had a feeling the whole time you were a girl and so did daddy, but I guess you fooled us!

Can't wait to meet our precious baby BOY!!

3D/4D sonogram and gender determination!

Today, we had our 3D/4D sonogram at Tiny Toes Prenatal Imaging in Greensboro.  I have been looking forward to this for weeks now!  Our session was for 15 minutes and we got to see both 2D and 3D sonogram pictures and got to watch live in 4D.  It was probably the neatest pregnancy experience I've had.  Getting a glimpse at the actual face of your unborn child is amazing.  Seeing their little skeleton in 2D is miraculous enough, but seeing this dimension of it was almost breathe taking.

Baby, today we learned that you like to keep your hands by your face!  We have one picture of you sucking your thumb. We also learned that you are a bit shy with your private areas, which is not a bad thing!  But today, you got poked a bit by the sonographer so that you would open your legs to reveal if indeed you were a boy or a girl!

That answer is sealed in these envelopes and will be opened next Saturday November 12th 2011!
