3.14.12 Doctor Visit... Transverse

Went to the doctor today for what will be the first of my weekly visits until the baby is born.  They did a non-stress test on me today, where they monitored the baby for about 15 minutes to see how his heart was handling contractions I have been having.  Contractions are small but annoying and a bit painful mostly across my lower back.  Baby handles all of this fine.

Doctor rechecked the baby's position today and he is no longer complete breech, but is now laying in a transverse lie presentation.  Maybe he is on his way to getting flipped around in time for a vaginal delivery.  Only time will tell...

The weirdest dream....

I am doing this blog pretty early...6:45am to be exact.  I had to go ahead and write it down before I forget any part of it.

I had a dream that I had the baby at home, alone with nobody else there with me.  The baby was born feet first and in my dream I do not recall having much pain associated with the birth... (indeed this is a dream!)  After he was born, I held him and talk to him. He didn't have as much hair as I have pictured him to have, but he had the most precious face ever. Cutting the cord didn't make it into my dream. I began feeling very sick after he was born and felt like I was running a fever.  I decided I needed to go to the hospital to make sure everything was ok with us, but not before stopping by the mall.  I had no carseat to put him in, so I raised my shirt up to find a small incision in my stomach.  It was almost like it could be opened and closed like a ziploc sandwich bag.  I opened the incision, and put the baby back. (maybe I am part kangaroo?)

I got to the mall and met my cousin Andrea there.  I had told her I had the baby and I had put him back because of the carseat and she asked me to take him back out so she could see him.  We stopped outside of a store in the mall, I lifted my shirt, unzipped my incision and pulled the baby back out.  Although I was facing a corner, people had began to gather around behind my back (like they had never seen a baby pop out of a belly in the middle of the mall before :)  Andrea shoo'd them away and when I got him out, I wrapped him in a blanket and showed him to Andrea.  I remember in my dream staring at him and he was staring back.  He had blue eyes and thin light brown hair.  He never cried.

After this, I told Andrea I was feeling horrible and needed to get to the hospital to be checked.  So I left and went.  This time I didn't put the baby back.  I just held him instead.  When I got to the hospital I explained that I had given birth at home.  There were several of my friends and family members there... except for Ryan and the kids. (this must come from my fear that he won't be with me at the hospital because he never answers his cell phone when I call and he is at work)  The nurses checked me out and told me I was getting an infection because the placenta was never delivered.  They took the baby and then rushed me back where they put my feet in stirrups and began pushing on my stomach trying to finalize the delivery.  The doctor in the room was CC... from Skateland and his wife Lori was in there holding my hand.  It was the weirdest thing!  After working on me a while, he was able to get it out and I began feeling better almost immediately.  Lori brought the baby back into the room and handed him to me.  My dream ended with me nursing him...

Whoa.... what a dream!

Scheduled C-section

Our doctor office has scheduled us for a C-section on Friday, April 13th at 7:25am because the baby is breech. We are hoping that between now and then that he turns into head down position and I go into labor on my own.  I really do not want a c-section delivery.

Blood sugar :(

I have been having problems with my heart racing.  It happens everyday at random times.  Just this past weekend, I was able to put 2 and 2 together.  I realized that it happens about an hour after I eat.  I started checking my blood sugar when my heart started racing and my numbers are unusually high.  I called the doctor today and they are reviewing my numbers and are putting me on medication.

Just a blog...

Well, we now only have 46 days until our due date.  I can't believe it has flown by as quickly as it has.  Maybe it's because life has been so busy for us that the days have just passed by.  I have enjoyed my pregnancy up to this point.  I was only sick a handful of times and other than that, I have felt pretty good.

With only a few items left to buy before the birth, we are ready for you to join our family!

This week I started feeling uncomfortable.  It's hard for me to breathe at times and this makes my heart race.  Sleeping is a challenge all by itself.  I toss and turn most of the night and can never seem to get comfortable.  I do miss laying on my stomach, but for now side sleeping with my legs thrown over whatever large object I can find seems to work.

READY FOR BABY NOLAN!!

33 week doctor visit 2.29.12 Sonogram

Went to the doctor today for a sonogram to recheck Nolan's weight and to make sure the placental lakes have not gotten any bigger or that no more have appeared.

At 33 weeks, he is measuring/weighing in at 5 pounds and 8 ounces! ALREADY?  We still have 7 weeks to grow!  He is in the 76th percentile for his growth, meaning that he is bigger than 76% of other babies at 33week gestation.

We also found out that he has flipped back out of the head down position and is now complete breech. (just like Haley was!)  My doctor is doing another sonogram at 37 weeks to recheck growth.  He said that if Nolan is still breech that they will attempt to turn him.  Due to his size, this may not be successful and if it isn't then we will be scheduled for delivery by c-section during the week of April 9-13th.  This was not at all in my birth plan!  I was hoping for a Vbac, but hey... looks like baby has his own birth plan in place.
